The activities of Synergasia Development S.A. include:

• Local action through the operation of an Antenna Network in collaboration with the Development Agencies of Local Government.

• Strategic development planning for the region as a unified geographical entity, both at a strategic and medium-term program level. This includes designing models, specifications, and methodologies to address development challenges in the intervention area. Additionally, it promotes complementarity in intervention actions by local government, development agencies, and local development actors, aiming to ensure compliance with standards and specifications while integrating these interventions into a comprehensive national development strategy.

• Research and collaboration with specialized development institutions, universities, and research centers to design innovative approaches for tackling development issues. The company also fosters education and training, bridging theoretical approaches with practical applications through partnerships with research centers and universities.

• Technical support and cooperation in preparing, securing, and implementing development programs at regional, interregional, and transnational levels, as well as coordinating programs and incorporating them into a unified development strategy.

• Planning, designing, and implementing investment projects, studies, and programs on behalf of the company or public, social, and private sector organizations related to its objectives.

• Application of national and EU legislation on public procurement, particularly in studies and services related to the company’s objectives. As a Contracting Authority, the company may undertake and conduct studies on behalf of public, state, or decentralized legal entities and provide related services funded by national and/or EU resources. In this context, the company may act as an Intermediate Management Body, utilizing institutional opportunities offered by the new EU Structural Funds (ESPA) management framework and relevant legislation.

• Designing, preparing, promoting, and implementing comprehensive development proposals, with the aim of securing funding under the current ESPA 2014-2020, the next programming period (2021-2027), or other European programs and initiatives.

• Providing information and support to final beneficiaries of co-financed actions or projects in matters of certification and implementation.

• Collaboration with public services, legal entities under public or private law, organizations, and institutions at both national and international levels, focused on research and improving regional development conditions. Particular emphasis is placed on cooperation with Regional Development Authorities, Local Government Authorities (Municipalities and Regions), their associations and enterprises, Chambers of Commerce, Cooperatives, Universities, financial institutions, and other stakeholders. These partnerships are structured within democratic planning principles, aiming for a multifaceted contribution to regional development, utilizing programmatic agreements.

• Planning, designing, and implementing—either independently or through third parties—training and employment programs for public, social, and private sector entities within the intervention areas.

• Supporting the establishment and operation of Local Government enterprises, including conducting market research, feasibility studies, and techno-economic studies, evaluating alternative technologies, financing options, supervising construction projects, assessing equipment procurement, and organizing the management and operations of such enterprises.

• Knowledge and technology transfer for the modernization of small businesses, the design of new products and services, and the revival of traditional techniques using modern technologies.

• Managing and disseminating expertise to local government, regional development stakeholders, and development agencies.

• Developing a communication strategy to promote the region, its products, and its services as a unified brand.

• Promoting initiatives related to cultural heritage and regional identity.

• Environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable development.

• Informing and updating stakeholders in the intervention area regarding decisions, policies, relations, and global trends affecting regional development.

• Planning, managing, and implementing integrated rural development programs and restructuring rural areas.

• Leveraging and developing new technologies to achieve the above objectives.
